Mandrake Public Relations was yet again present for round three at the Miami Hair, Beauty & Fashion which took place at the always elegant Spa at the Viceroy, this past November 8th.  On its 3rd edition, there was more fashion, more celebrities and more beauty.

Miami Hair, Beauty and Fashion by Rocco Donna

Mandrake had the honor of being in the  middle of everything, handling the Celebrity Suite, where we met many Latin celebrities and were able to chat with them while they got ready for the pink carpet and the fabulous runway.

The behind the scenes was out of this world, as hair and makeup prep was like playing musical chairs while the Spa at the Viceroy filled up with more than 450 people, awaiting the night’s one of kind show.  Known as the event to showcase the latest hairstyles, makeup looks and clothing design, this VIP party was one not to miss, and this year it didn’t fall short to the hype of past years.

Personalities as Marisa Del Portillo, Sonya Smith and Karent Sierra, were a few of the guests invited this year to walk down the runway wearing unique designs from hip urban/chic Ixoye by Rosita Hurtado, full of one of my favorite painters of all times, Frida Khalo.  And designer Miguel Angel MasJuan who couldn’t get any elegant, with his gowns full of colors that exuded style and classic sophistication. How will Rocco Donna surpass this year’s success in 2013? We will have to wait and see…

As mentioned, Abnormal Ariginals walked down the runway this past Saturday, December 4th in the fabulous LUX South Beach. Centrally located in Washington Avenue, surrounded by so many clubs, shops and boutiques, LUX was the perfect venue to showcase the unique personality of the Abnormal Ariginal fan.

The show started at 8:00pm on the dot and Abnormal Ariginals designer t-shirts opened the night. The models came down the stairs wearing colorful hair and makeup creations, an addition so well suited to collaborate with the enigmatic night. The crowd’s response only confirmed that Abnormal Ariginals are without a doubt, leaving a solid mark in the fashion world. Enjoy the images.

Mondo Guerra

Project Runway Season 8 first runner up, Mondo Guerra, was the clear winner in our eyes, but guess we are not eye-to-eye with the judges, this time.  Disappointedly, granola Gretchen Jones was selected as winner for this season.  Personally, I felt cheated as not only did Mondo have a winning streak during the show’s weekly competitions, but also his collection was a total showstopper.  It was rich of our most favorite ingredients color and freshness.

With a Latino-inspired collection, filled with his clear and unique fashion sense, Mondo Guerra is the new king of prints, as he made this difficult art look so effortless! The fashion walking down the runway was rich in color and had a very special treat, images of the Day of the Dead, which were also designed by Mondo. As we celebrate this day on November 2nd, I wanted to dedicate this post to Mr. Guerra’s fashionable interpretation of a timeless classic tradition that bumps Halloween anytime, in the scary department.

Day of the Dead

We can’t understand what happened to Michael Kors and Nina Garcia this season! But we definitely believe bigger and wonderful things will come to an out of this world, talented individual as Mondo Guerra.

Surprisingly, we had a great turnout on this sunny Sunday! So many potential buyers came knocking for a look-see and to check us out.  And we were happy to please.  All the way from Greenwich, Connecticut to Canada and Panama, Buyers were smitten by the delicacy and great craftsmanship found in our client’s lines.  We had the pleasure to have a Teen Vogue fashion market editor on site, ohhh la la!

After a long day of millions of hellos, we moved down to the gritty and tough part of the day, but somebody had to do it! The SwimShow Fashion Show!! Yes, one of our client walked down the runway in the astonishing Guilt. And guilty we were, of wanting every single suit that came down the catwalk, we were simply elated and flabbergasted at seeing so many great designs!
